    Default I have a new baby ...

Today was the day I continued the tradition of being a Bernina owner!! I've owned several Bernina sewing machines for 30 years and it was time to get a new one as my last Bernina is "dead & drapped in black". I literally wore down the metal on my first Bernina ... an 1130. The service man could not believe his eyes!! He asked my husband what I did with my machine. He replied "She sews a lot!" And I did. That machine was a work horse & I loved it. It still ran, but very clunky! I ended up selling it at a garage sale to a woman who was just learning to sew. My second Bernina was the 1160. I was not a big fan of that machine. I traded it in on a 180 E. Loved that machine ... did a lot of sewing and embroidery. But died on me about 5 years ago. I have been wanting a new Bernina and today I did it! The company has a promotion (good through June 13th.) of no interest for 60 months. How could I pass that up since I am a widow and live on a fixed income? I bought the B570QE. It has all that I want to do my quilting. I can add the embroidery module at a later time if I want do to so. Tomorrow I begin to play!!

And I see she has a "brother" in the background of the picture too.

Congrats on your new Bernina. I still love quilting on my 1530.

I hope you will enjoy your new BERNINA as much as you did your 1130. I used my 1130 for 30 years and still love it. I used mine to make wedding apparel and then I opened a business to make drapery and other window treatments for many years. The technician who serviced it said he had never seen a machine with so many stitches on it. I did have to replace a few parts over the years but it still works well. When I bought a new B530 I kept the 1130 because I had all the expensive attachments. I was not about to replace all of those for the prices they now charge. I did get the walking foot because I use it so much. Enjoy your new machine.
