I Need A Diamond In A Square Pattern That Doesn't Lose Points
There are so many ways to make a diamond in a square and I know the
easiest one is to put two squares right side to right side and sew and
cut one diagonally.
I'm not comfortable with this method for where these blocks are going
to be placed.
They are going to "stick out" or float, by themselves on borders and I
don't want to cut the points off. Help please?

You could paper-piece. Or you could use this method but it requires the
Bloc Loc Flying Geese ruler.
The instructions for the square in square starts at 3:01

There is a book by Jodi Barrows. Do you have that? I ended up with two copies. Is it something you can use? It is square in a square, not diamonds.

A friend saw this thread and messaged me and told me her method of square in
a square. She actually had a thread of her own on here, demonstrating the technique.
Marcia, it is kind of you to tell me about the book. The prices at the post office make
me hesitate to mail anything like that anymore. I'm sure you will be able to gift it
more easily to someone near where you live, but thank you so much.
