My 60 year old Singer 500 Slantomatic runs like a dream and makes beautiful stitches. I just want a machine to FMQ on and have similar features as my dead BabyLock

Shop around. There are different prices. You won’t need lessons on 1500S. There is a Brother 1500 with bells and whistles.

So excited - there are quilt shops here!

I just wanted to share my excitement! I am from Illinois and have no shops around me at all. They closed. We are in Fort Collins to visit my children and there are several dealers here and I can test drive them!! Yippee! I probably won’t buy any unless they make a great deal - but it will help me narrow it all down! I hope to go tomorrow.

If you can maneuver the quilt under the harp any machine can machine quilt. I like the vintage Singers, they can take the pull and push of the quilt without the needle bar or foot moving sideways.
