    Default I'm Going Crazy

Several years ago I saw a pyramid quilt in the Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting Magazine. I had never been tempted to make a pyramid quilt before, but this featured at least two different sizes of pyramids in the same quilt and I loved it. I bought their special pyramid ruler and put it on my "to do" list.

Of course now that I want to look at the pattern again and confirm what size strips to cut, I can't find which magazine it was in. I went on their site and searched for "pyramid quilt" and got over 2,000 listings, most of which didn't even involve pyramids! Does anyone remember this quilt and can you point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks in advance.

I just made one of those. It's called Thousand Pyramids. The triangles are all equilateral at 60 degrees. The "triangles within a triangle" are just a large triangle segmented into 4 smaller ones. Here's a good illustration:

Susan, What a great looking quilt in progress! Also a terrific way to use up those scraps everyone has. This design is something that could be used for any age or sex. Thanks for showing your pic.

So, Donna, this looks like just what you need. The QB members always seem to come up with an answer. Nice!

Just know that you have to be VERY accurate with your piecing when making this quilt. Not a pattern for anyone who is a beginner.

Look around the middle of this page - is that the quilt?

That's it, Dunster! What I've been finding particularly frustrating (aside, of course, from the fact I know I have the magazine -- I just don't know which issue it's in and, therefore, must look thru each and every one) is the fact that no matter how many searches I do on the Love of Quilting website, that particular quilt doesn't show up for me. I really hate when national magazines don't have good search engines. Good job finding it!

Since you've located the actual name of the quilt pattern and a source for the pattern, it is now pinned on my Short List on Pinterest. I will continue to try to find the issue of the magazine, since I already paid for it, but if I don't find it within a reasonable length of time I'll just go ahead and purchase the pattern. Won't be the first time I've bought a duplicate of something I already own!

I like the looks of it! I've never used the 60 degree triangle, but would like to make that quilt sometime. Send us some pics as you go along!

Susan - does it seem difficult to you? I suppose the bias edges tend to stretch, but a person could use a lot of starch on it. What do you think?
