    Default Info on inktense coloured pencils needed please

    Last fall, l treated myself to a set of lnktense colored pencils. These are made to colour a picture, then use a wet/ damp brush and the pencilling becomes watercolour. I've heard you can brush on some type of epoxy or something to make them appear like oils as well( but l'm not doing that)..
    I wish to use them on fabric. l have outline embroidered several quilt blocks and want a pastel look of colour, similar to method used in the Salem Quilt guild by Crabapple Hill studio. My question is...how do l make the colour durable enough for a quilt that's going to be laundered?

    According to Derwent, the Inktense pencils are permanent and can be washed after heat setting with an iron. - on cotton.
    This is a pdf guide put out by Derwent. you can download it if you like. Scroll down for the heat setting directions.

    according to this, some are ink based, some are wax based.

    Do some practicing on scrap fabric first.

    I think therre is an outliner pencil available to keep colors inside a boundary.

    I read something about using aloe Vera with them, too - but do not remember what it was.

    I think I bought my textile medium at JoAnns so Michaels, Hobby Lobby and the like should carry it. It's by the painting stuff.

    After doing a practice sheet, I decided;
    water and aloe Vera do not change the hand of the fabric.
    Water and aloe Vera can have a second layer added
    water bleeds more and gives water color look.
