    Default Insulbrite

    Hi everyone,
I made some potholders and hot pads etc. I used 2 layers of cotton batting with a layer of Insulbrite in between. I watched Sherri McConnell's video.
They came out great but the other day I baked some cookies at 350 and the potholder was sorta hot.
I'm a little bummed because I made all my kids some. I think maybe two layers of Insulbrite? Not sure about this. Would they be too thick to handle comfortably?

I have made them with one layer, they do get warm but not really hot. One thing I did, I quilted the potholder with top, batting, junk fabric. Then I sandwiched quilted sandwich, insulbrite, back fabric. I didn't quilt thru the insulbrite. Then used binding around the edge.

I usually use 2 layers of insulbrite on pot holders with a filler in between each layer of the insulbrite..

I make potholders all the time, using orphan quilt blocks. I usually use only one layer of insulbrite and find they work just fine. They are flexible and only warm to the touch. Cotton conducts heat so isn't good to use, even in layers.

I made some potholders for neighbors for Christmas and only put one layer of insulbright between two layers of cotton batting and they seem to be fine. Hopefully, they weren't too warm to use.

I have a bunch of old towels. Do y'all think I can use them in pot holders!
