    Default ISO easy quilt pattern

My daughter wants to make a quilt for her daughter but does not have a lot of sewing know how. I am looking for a easy (but interesting) quilt pattern for her. She wants to make a queen size quilt in red, black and white. I want it to be one she can learn how to use the rotary cutter and not cut out a bunch of pieces using a template. Can anyone suggest something? TIA

    Hi Blue button!
I would suggest going to Missouri Star quilt company u-tube videos. There are free patterns and videos of many quilt patterns that are beginner friendly.

I totally agree with Copycat, may favorite pattern from there is Double Slice and is easy to do and looks great when finished.

I like quilts with 'movement'. Rail Fence would fill the bill of the 3 colors.

I would suggest a black, white and red quilt from Turning Twenty's book 5. I bought a bunch of black and white fat quarters at an estate sale and looked for a pattern that was easy and pretty. The Turning Twenty quilts are supposed to be really easy. My cousin has made several of the ones from the first book. All I've accomplished so far is to buy the pattern and wash the FQs.

Here's the link to the book. You have to scroll down a little bit to see the one I am talking about. I've seen photos of it made with fewer light FQ's and it's not as striking as with a matching amount of white to black ratio, so I'm going to have to buy a couple of more lights for the quilt.

If she bought a big focus print in those colours, Warm Wishes is an easy pattern that works up quickly.

I think there are a lot of easy quilt patterns that are out there on Utube and Missouri Star Quilt Co has great beginner quilt patterns and tutuorials. Also, I like Jordan Fabrics tutorials. So glad your daughter wants to make a quilt-she will really enjoy it hopefully and find a new hobby she likes

I second the Warm Wishes with a focus fabric and three coordinates. There is a free pattern. Google is your friend. Two of the secondary fabrics make frames the focus fabric. So easy, but interesting.
