How big is the thick gauge clear vinyl from Joann's? I wonder if 1/10 inch plexiglas would also work. I can get that locally. Joann's is a 90 mile round trip for me.

Another thing that helps is wearing my rubber grip gloves. And I went to Joann's bought a thick gauge clear vinyl. Then made my own Supreme Slider. That has made all the difference with FMQ. Woohoo!
My edit: Now I just feel like staying home and quilting...do I really want to go to work ...A Big Fat NO!!

You hold out hope. I just thought I was a klutz with no hand eye coordination. You make me feel like trying again.

you would love to hear and watch Julie Lambert do this! WOW! Took a class in Lima OH and she was great! With my Mom's health issues I haven't had a chance to continue classes or even try it here at home BUT OMG you would so enjoy it! She brought a boat load of her quilts with her that day and WOW! Try to fine her, she lives in KY and see if you can attend one of her classes!

Love that moment when it all clicks together. Unfortunately that hasn't happened for me on quite a long time. I'm happy for you and love the message that there is still hope for me.

I can't buy gloves of any kind to fit my hands. I use SortKwik, the pink stuff you put on your fingers to count money, etc. Rub it all over my hands and I can hold on great. It's helping me find the groove.

It's wonderful that you found your perfect combination.

Great idea on the heavy gauge vinyl, never thought of doing that for my FMQ, those Supreme Sliders are expensive and I have 3 of them for my machines. I will be heading to JoAnn's for some of that vinyl. Thanks.
