I go to Conroe, TX, a lot to visit a friend who is a quilter too. I love going into Quilter's Quarter there in Conroe. Friendly people, great selection of batiks. I've taken classes there in the past. They have the bus going down to the International Quilt Festival on Wednesday night for preview. We have driven to Spring to go to the Old Town quilt shop several times. It's probably about 20 miles between the two quilt shops.

Welcome to Texas! I'm some distance from you on the SW side of Houston, but if you ever get down this way, check out Quilters Emporium on the SW freeway (hw 59).

The best part of living here is being able to easily go to the International Quilt Festival. It's so much fun!

I live in The Woodlands and work in Spring. My favorite quilt shop is Quilters Crossing in Tomball. They are so friendly and not that far away. http://www.quilterscrossingtx.com

    Welcome!

welcome to Spring, TX, which is a huge area -- if you are in The Woodlands area, check out the Woodlands Area Quilt Guild, meeting at the community center in The Woodlands on the first Wednesday of each month -- also has a web site -- guild has bees and classes and speakers and friendly quilters although a big guild!!

I'm just seeing your post. Have you heard of the new shop added to The Machine Warehouse on 249. Then there is the town of Tomball that has a shop called Quilter's Crossing on Main Street. Now they offer classes there.

Come to Klein United Methodist Church on Tuesday's at 10am. There is a building next to the church where a group of women quilt for charity and ourselves. We are a very welcoming and friendly group.

Welcome from Houston! I"m on the northwest side just off 290. Gigi gave good advice about stores. There's one close to me called Quiltworks. They're on Jones Rd at West Rd.

You've moved here at a good time. Houston International Quilt Festival happens at the end of October. You can't miss that!

I don't remember the shop name (been away from Spring for awhile), but there's a shop in the Woodlands right on I45 northbound side pretty close to the mall. When I was there they offered a $1 block club that met regularly in the evenings. They also had a Thimbleberries group that met maybe once a month. I also like the shop in Old Town Spring. Very nice folks both places.
