    Question kaufman fabric

    I found this fabric in my stash and it has

    Kaufman Co. Inc. #JS-1928 anyone have any idea what it means

    I don't know. But recently I have bought some rbk fabric for my first grand daughter, pima cotton and it is real nice!,,,

    I would have thought it was the code for shops to purchase other coding would be the colours.

    it's the catalog number- so shops can order the same again.

    I would think it's the pattern number/catalog number to get the same thing again.

    Kaufman is the manufacturer, and the JS-1928 is the pattern code. In order to match the fabric you would also need the color code.

    Color codes are rarely, if ever printed on the selvedge, since the same screens are used to print various color variations of the pattern.
