Default Lazy Girl Designs Pattern Question

Has anyone made one of the bag patterns using Soft and Stable instead of Fusible Web? I'm thinking about trying it but don't want to waste it if it may not work. Any opinions?

    TIA

I have some Soft and Stable. As of yet have not used it. Purchased at Sewing Expo in Puyallup WA. i did see some completed bags. They 'stand up' (don't slouch) much better then using batting or fusible web.

I will have to watch this, to see other opinions.

I haven't tried it yet either tia, but, I have taken old purses apart to reuse the hardware that had it in there for stability. It seems to me that you could try making something a little on the small side that you have made before to test out the difference on the finished product. That way you can evaluate the ins and outs of it.

Hi Grammy nice to see you!

I have used it in bags several times and love it. I was surprised at how easy it was to sew on even doubled over in purse straps. Go for it!

I've made my purses, diaper bags and totes and have had good results using fusable fleece. I get it at Walmart and its not to badly priced and it washes well if it gets dirty.imho

I used soft and stable to make bags for the women in my family at Christmas (8 bags). It was easy to work with and to sew and gave the bags a really nice shape.

I tried S&S and love it. Bags stand up real nice and it is easier to sew through than fusible. I have it in both bags and slippers. I would recommend it. I have used Fusible in the past and it gets a little droopy after a few washings and the S&S still stands high.

Will only make bags with S&S. Over time the other fleeces/interfacings droop ut not S&S. Very easy to sew through. I usually baste around the edges of the pieces. No need to quilt, unless for design option

I've made several bags from Lazy Girl designs and I think soft and stable will work fine - you may have to anchor it with some stitching if you're using a big chunk, if only to hold it in place while sewing pieces together. Post pictures when you're done!

I love Soft and Stable. The finished bag will stand up.
