I was in a LQS today and there was a Little Gracie II set up. I've come to the realization that my machine will work PERFECTLY on this setup. I'm searching craigslist and have found some possibly good deals. I'm looking for Pros and Cons for this frame. Keep in mind, I'm NOT going to do this for a business...just personal use. Now, tell me about your Gracie.

Can it handle queen size quilts? Do you have a stitch regulator? Do you use side clamps or whatever they are called?
    Thanks.

Yes it can handle up to 105" and I do use the side clamps to help keep the quilt taught. I have the speed control not the regulator. I have read you really do not need the regulator but the speed control is really helpful so you do not have to use the foot pedle.

I have LG II with a 13" Bailey on it and I love it. I have it set up for the smaller size because I make a lot of throw and baby quilt. It's a good quality frame. I use the side clamps too to help keep the sandwich taut while quilting. I do have a stitch regulator but you don't need one - it just makes it easier.

If you can find a good deal, go for it. You won't be sorry.

What would be a good price for a frame? There is one on CL right now for $400. Don't know if this is a good price or not.

It seems that 300-400 on Craigslist is the going rate for a used or nearly new one....I'm hoping to get one I've found for about $300

They are sturdy and well built. They will fold up with only minor adjustments if needed. I was going to put a HandiQuilter Sixteen on the frame, but opted out for the Avante 18" and it came with a studio frame. I gave the Little Gracie II to a friend. It really never had a quilt on it.
