    Default Looking to buy a sewing machine - - - Janome 7330?

    Hi everyone,

My cousin is looking to buy a sewing machine (she hasn't sewn in many years) and she would also like to start quilting. She is looking at the Janome 7330 Magnolia - does anyone out the have this machine? If so, would you give me your feeling on it - the good and the bad?

Is there another machine you would recommend in a price range of under $380 - which is all she is able to afford?

Thanks for any and all opinions!

The Magnolia is what I started quilting with 4 years ago and now use it as my backup machine. Had no problems with it at all. Go for it!

I'm a Janome owner and fan, so i expect a Janome Magnolia should do nicely.
You might also want to consider one of these.
each includes more features desirable for quilting, but lower price points.

I have this one and love it!
every bell and whistle i like except a wide throat.
although portable, it is a very solid "dealer quality" machine.
it doesn't come with an extension table, but it does include a fancy-shmancy hard cover.

I also have this one. it weighs (and costs) a lot less than the PC420; comes with an extension table; but does not have the automatic thread cutter.
