don't kill yourself - you won't be happy with the outcome for an old dear friend if you rush. Just get something on the registry and give her a nice handwritten personal note (to her, not just put on a table somewhere), that says, when shes settled, you will make her a quilt to match any decore/color scheme she would like, in a pattern of her choice. sharet

There is a quilt called the Shuffle that goes together really fast and looks great, you can cut and piece it all in one evening. I no longer have the directions, but may be someone one the QB has it. Good luck.

What about trying something smaller?? Maybe a table runner with matching placemats and napkins.... Just a thought.

This may be the Shuffle pattern, and it does look quick and easy.

I like the other member's ideas of pillowcase now to match quilt (maybe d9p or warm wishes or columb quit) after honeymoon.

The one I did used charm pack for D9P front and matching layer cake pack for simple patchwork backing.

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking I'll be making a candle mat for their unity candle with the date and their names embroidered on there and then a Lover's Knot. When my friend moved down south to be with this man I made her a D9P so I wanted to do something different. Someone on here mentioned the Lover's Knot and a friend had the book so I'm thinking that might be what I make her. Thanks!

I wouldn't even try to make a quilt or gift so fast ... get a beautiful card & say a gift is "in the works" & coming soon ! Often couples don't even OPEN the wedding gifts until they return from their honeymoon ... that way you can take your time and no stress ! :)
