I am making the Squares to Go! Quilt. The one square that is hard to see is the square with all the beautiful brown and orange trees. most of the others are dog and cat paws. my husband does think the brown leaf one on the top of the pile goes with the others. What do you think??? Do I need to find another one? All squares are 6 1/2 inch and just going to sew them together using the pattern. Fairly simple since I have at least three quilts to make for Christmas.

I agree with your hubby. I think they all work!!
What's nice about the top one is that it's a larger print
    to mix in.

my feeling is the black prints will bring strong enough contrast to the lighter prints. the top brown print & bottom brownish print don't feel like they go. maybe some medium value & bigger size prints of colors that are in the black fabrics. I am always surprised, though, by the combinations
of colors that work together. do what you gut feeling tells you to do--that is usually the one you will like.

I would drop the large print brown and look for something to highlight the blue or green in your smaller novelty print.

However, if stopping to find a different fabric will keep you from finishing your goals, I'd just got with what you've got and it will all be fine.

I need 9 different fabrics. Do you think I need more beige instead of the brown?? the pattern says I need dark and light patterns. I want to keep I love my cat pattern which is why it may be off but my son has a cat and a dog so I was trying to get them both in ...one I love my cat and the other the dog bones. I love, love the tree print...picking colors/fabrics is so hard...

I always think you need some large and small scale prints plus light and dark and you have all that. It is going to be beautiful! Can't wait to see it. I always think that one print should be plaid, but I am strange.
