Looking for a quilt block name

I would probably just call it an Ohio Star variation! I found one with a sq on point, but not a 4 patch. They called it a "braced star". How about making up your own name?

I don't know the name, but I drew this up in EQ. Is it what you mean? If so tell me what size you want the block to be and I can supply you with the sizes of the individual patches. Or if you have EQ, this is a good use for it. This block is not in EQ but it's easy to construct from Ohio Star blocks that are there.

That is exactly the block I am looking for. I have EQ 6 but don't know my way aroung very well, so could you give me info for both the 9" and 12". I have a feeling the center 4 patch is going to need a template.

For the 9" block, EQ says to make the 4-patch from 2 5/8" patches.
For the 12" block, it says to use 3 5/16" patches.
I did the following:
Library/Block Library/Search/By Notecard/ and entered "Ohio Star" (without the quotes) as the search words. That gave me about 7 blocks to choose from. I selected one that looked pretty much like what you want, but it didn't have a 4-patch in the middle. I then chose the "Add to sketchbook" option.
Next go to the sketchbook, select the block you just added and select Edit. Remove the lines from the block that you don't want and add the ones for the 4-patch. Then color it in and you're ready to use it. I hope this helps.
Edited to say - you may be right about needing a template to do the center accurately. I would probably try it with these dimensions and if it doesn't work then do it in EQ, print the template, and use that.
