    Default Lost Quilt Found!

A little more than a year ago, I posted photos here of a quilt top comprised of state flower blocks which were embroidered God only knows how long ago (probably 30-40 years ago). I had sent it to my cousin in Oklahoma (who had a quilt shop). She was going to quilt it for me. However, she became very ill and passed away December 17. No one knew where my quilt top was -- my cousin became quite a "hoarder" and the quilt top was well hidden. I sadly had almost accepted that the quilt top was permanently lost. This is the top for which I had made a matching bed skirt, and pinch-pleated drapes, with a pinch-pleated valance for a complete re-do of one of the bedrooms in our house. Losing the top was a real blow!

Well, I spoke with my son's cousin (who is handling wrap-up of my cousin's estate) tonight and she tells me she's found the quilt-top (and the backing I had also sent) and is returning it to me! I am really Happy that the lost is found! And, yes, I was shouting with joy! Woo Hoo!

Wow, how lucky that it didn't end up in the bottom of a bag they sent to Goodwill. You did so much work for that bedroom, so glad you got it back! You'll have a gorgeous bedroom.

It pays to speak up, especially in situations like this. It could have easily ended up so differently. I am glad you got your quilt top and backing returned to you.

Only a quilter would realize the value in the quilt. So very happy it was found and returned to you.
