    Default Martelli binding tools

Has anyone used the Martelli binding tools? I'm wondering if any of it makes sewing on bindings any easier? Thank you.

There is a thread on here, why did I buy that? Or something similar to that and unfortunately that is one of those items mentioned not being worth the money. I have seen them at shows and considered buy it, but the cost set me back and I am glad I did because binding is just not that big of a deal for me.

I bought them and have watched the videos. I quickly realized I could do just as well on my own. I'll probably never use them. Another, why did I let myself get talked into that?

I would stay away from that. I have several friends with this tool and either they can't figure it out or it's too complicated to use. The videos and demonstrations makes it look easy, but it's not.

I could never figure out the binding tool either BUT, watch this video on binding and I'm sure the light bulb will go on as to how to do this...it's great and works every single time perfectly. Here's the link: http://quiltingtutorials.com/all/ult...ding-tutorial/

I watched a 22 minute video (part 1) and it looked like a lot of much ado about nkthing . I was not able to see A NY benefit from the way I now do bindings.

I just recently looked up martelli to decide what to buy and I think every single person who bought the binding system hated it.

I bought the whole kit for binding quilts from Martelli's and I tell you, it is a real pain to use. I tried it a couple of times but it took so long to put it all on my quilt edge and move it all down that instead of taking a few minutes to bind the front of the quilt, it took me a looooong time to bind the front. It's not worth it. The kit has been sitting in my sewing room for over two years and I'll never use it again. Another useless purchase.

I also purchased this with high hopes. Watched the videos twice and started trying to use it but quickly decided that Sharon Shamber's "Binding the Angel" method was much simpler and easier to get consistent results. Money down the tube for sure.
