When you save strips and strings, when do you say "That strip is too narrow to save? Do you use 1/8" seam instead of 1/4"?

I would be afraid of anything smaller than 1/4" unless it is for a wall hanging that will never be washed. OR if I was going to do very heavy quilting in the seam lines :D:D:D

Those narrow strips are cute ribbons for wrapping gifts(sew them together to make them longer if necessary), let kids use them in crafts, or stuff pet beds with them :D:D:D

It takes alot for me to throw any of them away because I also do embroidery and some of those pieces are really small. I do have two containers on my cutting table though; one for larger scraps and then one for smaller stuff; if the second one gets to large I'll consider dumping it but then it's usually into a larger bin and then when I make something to stuff like the bean bag chairs my grandson wants for Christmas I'll have some of the stuffing for it.

I only save a very minimum of 3/4" if I absolutely love the fabric. But normally less then 1" goes into the shred bag for rescue pet beds.

I save everything; I have a friend that does rag quilts and she comes over to "rifle" through my bits.

I save down to 1 inch strips, and 1-1/4" square, the rest I toss. I love the idea of a free top. I like Bonnie Hunters method of organizing and cutting scraps. I am working on her Roll Roll Cotton Ball Mystery quilt from quiltville.com.
