I want to make this quilt. Saw it in a quilt shop and it was gorgeous. The owner would not let me take a photo of it. Darn!

It calls for pieces cut to 16th of an inch. What tool would you use to measure 16th of an inch blocks, i.e. 3 5/16? My rulers do not have 16th of an inch marks on them. Thanks for your help. Yolanda

If it's predominately made from HST, she probably used Triangulations software as it has HST to the 1/16th I think.

I've never seen one, but you could make a paper template and tape it to your ruler as a guide.

Do you have a link to the pattern? I couldn't find a picture by Googling.

Doesn't the book tell you how or why to cut those measurements??

1/2 way between 1/8" and the next 1/8" mark. but you can probably cut a little bigger and trim down after sewing.

I don't understand any piece that is measred in 1/6" incriments. If it is all triangles what difference would it make. Is the "Balis" a regular pattern made with batiks or something special.

I see the name is "Mystique of Bali", but since she wouldn't let you take a photo, did she at least tell you where to find the pattern? As to the rulers, look in art supplies for rulers w/ 1/16th markings. I use lots of rulers & templates that are bought for stationery purposes.

The pattern is from the book Batik Beauties by Laurie J. Shifrin. It is out of print, but you can get a digital download of the entire book from the Martingale website at http://www.martingale-pub.com/store/...roducts_id=990

Thanks so much. I went & had a look - now I have to check my book stash, as the book looks familiar - don't need a duplicate (& I've done it! They're beautiful quilts! Good luck!
