Thanks Geri, but this is Lynnie's thread, wasn't trying to hi-jack it, was just trying to help her get ideas. Thank you for sharing these links though.

Get a good applique project going. I love to hand applique while watching TV, (or riding in the car with my husband driving) although I have to confess that in my 20's when I used to knit a lot, I would hold my knitting in my lap and pick up a few stitches when stopped at a red stop light. I know that was very dangerous, but I have reached my 80's still alive. Now I am all into quilting.

saw the micky d stuff. love her castle walls, a lot of templates though.
I guess I need to rethink this, do I want a lot of pieces or just a few.
thanks for posting the sites for me to go see at.

I embroidered blocks to go into a quilt with blocks of other fabrics. The blocks are from pictures of hats and shoes. I've been working on them in a "Red Hat" style (just because I was looking for something fun and I liked the colors), the hats are big and fancy. So I have also been adding beads and sparkles. This will be a quilt that goes up for sale or a donation for an auction. Good luck

Right now Temecula Quilt is doing a little gems EPP. It's way cool and so much fun. The other thing they did last year was fussy cut stars using diamond EPP. Just a suggestions, but I love it.

Yeah! This is what I'd seen, called little gems, just like making a hexie flower, but instead of 7 hexies, each piece only has 5 sides, so it only takes 6 pieces, would be easy to lay out a hexie flower, and draw your own template, I might try this for some different looks. Anyway, here is the link. Thank you TexasSue!

I am attempting to learn hand applique. Lucked out and found a 2 block kit at thrift store for almost nothing, so I won't feel guilty if I goof up.
