Default Need a thin and light batt for a T-shirt quilt.

Because I have to ship it to Germany and its outrageously expensive. It will probably be around $80 to $100 just for the shipping. Holy cow. I must really like those two, lol. Anyway, weight is an issue. Thanks for all your help!

Joanne’s has a very thin and lightweight Thermore polyester batting. I think it is just 1/4” thick or less. Silk would also be very lightweight but pricey and not really appropriate for a t-shirt quilt.

Quilter’s Dream or W&N are both very lightweight, but warm.

Polyester is substantially lighter in weight than cotton or wool. The loft depth is usually marked on the packaging.

Are you shipping USPS? That seems a bit high. How much will it weigh?

Mountain Mist has a light polyester batt. The packages are marked.

Craft batting is very thin and light, but you won't get much definition out of it.

I recommend a low loft poly. Mountain Mist or Pellon make a good batt.

That's what I thought last year when I was trying to ship a 5 lb box with superbowl party supplies in it. For the quilt, a large flat rate box, Priority mail is $86.95. A 12" cube is $54.35 for 5 lbs. Not sure how much the quilt will weigh. There is no longer the option of sending things parcel post. Apparently, the slow boat no longer goes to China, or anywhere else.
