Default needle size for T shirt quilt sewing?

I am making a T shirt quilt. I have backed the pieces with 906 (thin) fusible interface. I am now ready to sew. I have a Janome MC6600. What are your recommendations for needle size? Any other suggestions before I begin? Thank you!

You might try a ball point needle since they are made for knits so they won't break the weave.

I use a size 11 Universal when piecing the stablized T's. When I quilt on my long arm I will use a size #18 needle with King Tut thread. (a #40 thread)
