Just remind yourself when you look out the window that with a cold winter ahead, the heating bill is going up and fast. Instead of buying, try looking for free patterns and ideas to make something different to give you a change from making quilts. It's a break from the same old thing day after day. If that doesn't help, walk away from the computer and pick up a good book. Those romance novels are pretty juicy and have kept me in one spot for hours.

Look at it this way, Women in the Civil War had saved fabrics etc and had to use them during the war. Women in the 20's saved fabrics and had to use them when things were so bad in the 30's. So Now we Save Fabrics and Hope we don't have to use them but times will still be Blessed and we can go to the stores and buy Fabrics if we want. I believe Santa is coming for me and you!!!

Don't feel so bad.. I went to Joanns to pick up a knick knack of something to handwork while out of town..
I ended up seeing that all their clearance fabric was half-off of the already half-off price.. [and if you buy the end of the bolt, the remaining "remnant" (after the yardage on the bolt is accounted for) is half-off of the half-off of the half-off!]

12 bolts, a HUGE stack of one-yard cuts, and $90.66 later..
I'm trying to figure out how to fit all this in the car with my mom, a 3 year old, AND our luggage. :)

I'll have even more fun not only fitting it in my sewing room back home.. but seeing the look on my DH's face when I start hauling all of it into the house.
