Default Obsessed - oh my Take 2

In 2013 I posted how I felt obsessed trying to find just the right fabric (lots of fussy cutting) for my Hawaiian Diamond quilt.
    http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...y-t231694.html

I finished the quilt and then pushed myself to make the most of the scraps. With the second quilt I tried out leaders and enders, square in a square, thangles, and piping in the quilt. I felt so much freedom to try new things because the fabric was "free".

Wondering if other quilters experience a similar feeling....

would it be rude to say I like the second quilt better? They are both beautiful!

    Love both of your quilts!
The geometric style is more my 'thing' but enjoy looking at the beautiful results of others like yourself who do more pictorial ones. Maybe someday I will get adventurous!

My quilting group receives fabric from RK to make charity quilts so I don't feel any difference with using that stash or my own. It is in the creativity process when a quilt comes out better than I had anticipated that I feel delighted.
