    Default Organ Needles

Hi All, just curious as to people's thoughts on Organ needles (likes/dislikes). I recently have bent or broken two/three of them (could be operator error). They seem to be less sturdy than the Singer needles I have.

I use them and haven't had any problem with them. Perhaps you need to double check to see what size/weight of them you are using. For quilting I use the HLx5 90/14. I have a high speed straight stitch machine, Babylock Accomplice. The HLx5 is a high speed needle.

They are the only needles that my Janome likes.

My Brother PQ1500 came with those Orgsn needles. Same machine as the Jane. They work fine but I mostly use Schmetz even for FMQ. Also work fine.

I've been using them on my Singer 201-2 for FMQ with rulers. I am a newbee at FMQ with rulers so the needles are probably fine and it is just me. They are 90/14 which are the same as some of the Singer needles I have. It may just be me and the learning curve for FMQ with the rulers. Hopefully, the learning curve is short.

I've heard when you move your quilt/fabric when FMQuilting faster than the needle is going, you can bend or break the needle, so perhaps this is what you are finding.

you should only use singer [or generic singer-type] needles in a singer machine.
the needles are usually very different to shmetz or organ.
the ones i had were longer, which explained a lot of the issues i had when i tried to use them in non-singer machines.

I have used Organ in my Pfaff, Viking, Janome and my Singer 301A. No problems at all.

I have used nothing but Organ needles for over 25 yrs. with no problems. I have used them with my Janome, Viking and both my new and vintage Elna machines. I like that I can buy them for less in bulk and I don't have to pay for a lot of useless packaging. I do use the Schmetz brand when I sew on denim or shorten jeans and need a denim needle.

That's my understanding also. I've used Organ needles in all my machines except the Juki. I just haven't tried them in that yet. I've used Organ and Schmetz needles in all my vintage Singers with no problem and in both my old and new Berninas.
