While these are not "quilting" novels, I enjoyed reading the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. There was one in particular that she wrote a lot about their methods of survival of everyday life in those days. The "how to's" of early America. And I also enjoy Beverly Lewis' books.
No bad words or stupid sex --all just good reading.

I have read quite a few quilting books. Some were 3 or 4 in a series, some were stand-alone titles not belonging to a series. Most are out of date now, so a library or a book seller source, Amazon for instance, would be your best sources. I have ordered some from CBD (Christian Book Distributors) that say they are in a series, but each title is a stand-alone story (no reoccurring charactors). CBD buys books from Christian booksellers that no longer want to carry those titles that are not current. They also get new books, too, to sell at a discount off retail. Google book sellers and I am sure you will find all kinds. CBD is where I buy most of my books to read. I was a church librarian for 30 years and CBD has been in business since the late 70's or early 80's and I watched them grow and expand over the years. PM me if you want to know any more about titles or authors I have read.

Sandra Dallas . Most are stand alone books but once in a while one of her books brings in past characters as in maybe a past relative. My favorite is The Persian Pickle Club. There's sometimes twists in her story lines.

Mary Marks has about 9 mystery books written with just a bit of quilting in them.

Another member of the quilting board.com recommended Marie Bostwick's Cobbled Court series. I love these books. She even has the quilt patterns from the books available for free on her website: MarieBostwick.com

I love Marie Bostwick. Have read all her books except the newest one even those that aren't about quilting.
I also like Ann Hazelwood series and Mary Marks series (mystery/quilting combined).
