Hey all. I'm thinking of using panto's, but I want to draw my own. Does anyone have tips and/or suggestions for me? Thank you!

make sure you can draw (sew) it without picking up your pencil, make your spacing consistent. good luck, we'd like to see what you come up with

If you can get some 1" gridded paper, that will help. Start your design on a specific horizontal line, then end it on the same line so the design will flow from one repeat to the next. The gridded paper will also help keep the design within your chosen width, but don't make it 'boxy'. Have a concave bit at the bottom edge and a convex bulge at the top so that you can nest your rows so they don't look like stripes. I guess just study some of the online designs for general pointers.

I found drawing pantos very challenging. For me, I practice on a white board and then quilt it freehand.

You can print from 'freepaper.com' the grided paper, then transfer your design to either lighter paper, like Golden Threads, or something you prefer. Or you could put the grided paper under you 'working' paper to keep your design in alignment.
