With any quilt project I starch 1st and cut 2nd. Now that you have all your strips cut ahead of time, I'd be afraid they would shrink a little if you starched/pressed them now and you don't want that, do we? I made my 1st logcabin quilt ever while waiting for my house to sell and I just went with it. If any of the blocks came out wonky, once its quilted, you'll have a hard time finding it as someone else mentioned. I made it before I started up with the starching/pressing step too.

When it comes to log cabin quilts, I use the pattern as a road map and make the log cabins in my preferred method (the Creative Grid rulers) Since you already have your fabrics cut, paper piecing may cut it too close, unless you do a cabin with an extra round on it, or do a smaller block, ex finishing at 8 1/2" instead of 9". Good luck and remember, the quilt police will not come around and arrest you for not following the directions in the pattern!

One thing to mention for future knowledge - Judy Martin recommends cutting your LC strips lengthwise to minimize stretch. Obviously that doesn't help right now but maybe for the next one. I'm told LC can become addictive. I certainly like the variety of patterns and sub-patterns that come out of them.
