I would like to learn to paper piece. Is there a good book on this, most of the ladies in my quilting guild just groan when I said I would like a lesson.

check out books by carol doak. she has few beginner books that are quite good. Once you get the hang of it, it really isn't too hard to do and it's fun!

Carol Doak is the best instructor I know. She has many published books and you can also go to her website to learn more. I took a class from her and it was great. www.caroldoak.com

I'm going to have to agree with everyone. Carol Doak is the master. I believe her site offers free tutorials and patterns. Paper piecing is a lot of fun, but it takes a bit to get the hang of it. It's very challenging at first but and the results are spectacular. I waste a bunch of fabric, so it's a good stash buster!

Great avatar, gypsyquilter. Yes, Carol Doak is the paperpiecing master. Actually, I have two pp books to give away in my next PIF round. I like to wait until I have a PO trip coming.

You can learn a lot just by going to Carol Doak's site, Caroldoak.com. She offers lots of free patterns, and any of her books are great. Lots of them come with DVDs so you can resize patterns.

Watch paper piecing tutorials on youtube. No need to wait for a book or dvd to arrive.

Just search for "paper piecing tutorial"...

And, join Carol Doak's yahoo group. You'll love pp'ing once it clicks.
