What's your favorite pattern to show off large prints? I found some pretty fabric I'd like to buy. I haven't bought it yet because I'd like to have an idea what to do with it. I need to be careful w/money right now, so I want to get what I need, but not too much extra. I think it needs to be at least 6" squares or even larger to show it off. Any suggestions?

My favorite is the Aussie pattern from Quiltmania magazine.

You can see a picture here.

The South Sea imports website has a lot of free patterns on their website and they all seem to be for large prints/panel type quilts. Some pics have the patterns and others say "pattern coming soon" but there might be something there you are interested in. (Not sure why they have an "add to cart" button when the patterns are all free PDF downloads Lol..)

I was going to suggest both of those as well.

If you use part of the same fabric as one of the 9-patch fabrics, the look is even more spectacular.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll have to sketch out a couple to see how it looks with those fabric swatches, it's so hard to tell when the color scheme is different. There were some nice ones on the South Seas site...Peony Tales is really pretty!
