    Default Pfaff for sale

I have an offer to buy a Pfaff Tiptonic 2042 machine used very little. It was bought in 2002. She said make me an offer. I have no idea how much is a good price. Any suggestions?

You can check e-bay in the completed sales section to get an idea of how much they have sold for.

Info from some articles on the Internet:
In 2009, one was bought new for $799
Several people raved about the machine.

Things that I consider a deficit are: 1. It's computerized and is an old machine, even if it has not been used much. If the computer boards go out, they could be very expensive. 2. It probably needs to be gone through and all the oiling points done and the timing checked. If a technician does this in our area, it is $135 for him to look at the machine. Extra if it needs any parts.

All that being said, I really wouldn't consider it worth very much and that's a darn shame.

another sad fact about the older computerized machines, they eventually stop making the computer boards for them....so if they break, just can't fix unless you luck out and find an old working computer board for them....I have been stitching on beloved Viking D1 which I think is the most wonderful machine ever made in the whole wide world....but no can get parts for her if one goes....sad
