Default Poodle Pattern?

Howdy y'all,

Well...time is winding down, and I still need to make one more gift for one of the gals in my quilting group. I've made small wall hangings from 12" blocks for everyone, featuring their particular interests. One is getting a horse, one a cat, one an RV, etc. All are simple applique projects, but for the last gal I'm trying to find an applique poodle. I have searched coloring book pages online, and have spent a lot of time in department stores looking through their coloring books....just trying to find ONE picture of a poodle that doesn't look feminine with bows, long eyelashes, slender physic, classic poodle haircuts, and/or any other number of feminine qualities. I'm looking for cartoonish without a feminine flair. I don't have a lot of time left, and I'm finding NOTHING! Please help?!?

Donna

why not check the poodle out in the fabric dept at Wal mart or such dept. Even if you didn't find exactly you could use it as a guide.
I used one from there when I made my poodle skirt..

Try searching google images with "poodle graphic" as your search. Edited to add just about every image you find will have the classic poodle cut as that is iconic to the breed. A poodle without the poodle cut just looks like a shaggy dog.

Below is a link to the Poodle Club of America - Judges Education Illustrated Standard.

You will find good images of Poodles in all of the acceptable clips for both males and females.

I think the image of the Poodle in a side gait is a wonderful image that is classic and unmistakably a Poodle. It doesn't look silly, it looks sporting ... which in fact it is. Did you know that there are lots of Poodles with hunting titles?? Yup!!

The sporting clip isn't overly fussy and is iconic for non-show dogs.

Unfortunately I didn't keep a copy of this little fellow but I found it on free coloring pages some place & added his hat, when I made this little mug rug for a friend who has a poodle named Beau.

You need to check out the book "Beautiful Big Dogs" , there is a great poodle in that. I am currently working on that quilt now. There is a great poodle to appliqué .
