I hope my question here doesn't sound stupid.

How do you deal with projects which require you to make cuts of 44" strips? As fabric usually come in widths of 44/45", it's quite impossible to get an exact 44" if you cut away both selvages.

Hope to get some advice here. Thanks.

It is difficult, as some of the fabric is only 42" wide too, and some of the selvages are getting wider...

You may have to piece these together or cut the fabric on the length instead of across the width :D:D:D

Thanks! That's the problem with some quilt books. They don't give specific instructions. And it can be very daunting for inexperienced quilters like myself.

Amen, How can you learn if you don't ask questions? Not asking question is been stupid.

I'm glad you asked. Not all fabric is 44 inches wide. I think it was a good question.
