    Default Question on echo quilting

Looking for opinions on quilting this wall hanging. I am going to echo quilt this, should I quilt on the inside of the block or outside of the block?

Do you mean Echo quilting or outline quilting?

I think I mean echo, lol 1/4 inch from the ditch is what I'm thinking. My terminology may be incorrect.

I think it depends on the look you want and the thread color you are planning. I like the look of outside.

I think you could echo inside the dark squares. I think I might do something showier on the light parts and squares where you can see it.

I can see echo quilting on both the dark and light!

Quilting 1/4 inch from each seam line (on each side of each seam) would look fantastic.

I would start with the dark. What is the width?? I think that stitching .25 inches is a little too tight. Measure the width. If is maybe two inches, I would mark the center line with either a Hera marker (by Clover) or white chalk. If you need to mark the other two lines then do it. Once you finish all the dark squares, take another look at the quilt and see what the quilt is telling you. I would stitch a design in the square created by the pieced triangle in both the light an dark squares on point. But take things slow when you are questioning yourself. I am a believer that the quilt piecing should outshine the quilting. Good Luck.
