Default question regarding Hunter Star pattern

I fell in love with the Hunters Star pattern I found in my latest Country Woman magazine. I wanted to do my next quilt scrappy. My question is "Will it look right if I keep the light color throughout and do the rest scrappy? It is 12" blocks alternate Hunter Star with 4 patch. Hope I made it clear enough for you to understand what I am trying to do. Thanks for any help you can give.

as long as there is a light dark contrast in the block you should be fine

Have a glance at the pictures that come up on google search, it looks like it would work and be exciting when done! https://www.google.ca/search?q=scrap...w=1260&bih=859

I always go to Google to see examples of photos of quilts-so much inspiration out there and so easy to find it.

There is a quilt on pinterest called hunter's Rainbow that is scrappy with a constant of black and white and I saw this in I think it was quilt world magazine at one time. It looks great.

OMG!!! What gorgeous pictures. I google lots of quilty things but just haven't done the Hunter's Star. My small guild in Lincolnton, NC had a workshop,on doing this block using squares and half square triangles - what fun. I also have the rulers from Deb Tucker - haven't tried them - yet!! - but have watched the videos and her demos at quilt shows and it is really easy and very forgiving to some of us less than perfect people.

btiny36, do you know of a pattern for this? I love the use of strips.

I'm working on one with the mossy oak fabrics (camouflage). So it will be busy. You can google hunter's star many patterns like another QB member mentioned.
