I just made one for a granddaughter quilt--Ironed the fabric onto the freezer paper, put it through the printer, then I ironed it on very hot for a minute or so. Today I threw the fabric in the washer and the black ink is set and looks good, but all he color washed out. I am still going to use it, but was disappointed that the color was gone. It was not treated fabric, just a scrap that I had washed to be sure the sizing was gone. I am going to buy some of the pre-treated fabric for label making next time.

If you do not want it to wash our you need to use bubble jet set or the fabrics for printing that you purchase. That has been my experience.

I just iron Kona white onto freezer paper and run it through my HP Deskjet. I do not prewash or pretreat the fabric. I do let it sit for a couple of hours after printing it before I heat set it and that seems to make a difference. Maybe the "Gods" are with me, because so far, I haven't had any problems and they wash up beautifully.
