    Default Quilt for my g'son

I know y'all can help. I am looking for a scrappy pattern for my 3yr old g'son. I don't want a child's pattern. I can't do appliqué. I have made a quilt for all my g'kids picking a pattern that will see him/her into their later years. It can be made using anywhere from 2 to 30 different fabrics. The size can be from a throw to king size. I'm in my 70’s and so I probably won't be around when he is an adult. I want him to have something made especially for him which is what I did with my other g'kids. That is why I won't use one of my previous patterns.

Have a look at the Missouri Star Quilt co youtube video of Falling Charms. It can be made with all different squares and the background colour pulls it all together.

There are so many patterns to choose from. Tartan has already mention Falling Charms. I have made tow charity quilts using the free pattern Warm Wishes found on the Quiltmaker website. A picture was posted a day or so ago using that pattern that was a very cute quilt. Then there are the old standbys of D9P or Yellow Brick Road. Good Luck

I thought of Falling Charms. Just wanted to see if anyone had a better suggestion.

When my grandmother was making quilts for all the grandchildren, all the boys got Rail Fence done in 4 colors. Many of those quilts are still in use 30 years later.

Well, don't claim that "won't be around when he is an adult". You may be around when he is old. Who knows.

How about Bonnie Hunter's scrappy mountain majesty. Not too hard and looks great in guy colors. I'm thinking of making one for my son.
I also am making quilts for when I'm not around. We all want to be remembered.
