    Default Quilter's Dream batting

I hear that it doesn't crease like Warm and Natural. Does anybody know a good place to get it on a roll?

I love QD but buy it in packages from Hancock Fabrics. Because it doesn't have a scrim and is softer than WN, it is more likely to stretch or be wonky from being handled from a bolt, IMO. I'm sure there are folks who would disagree. I also like to think it's cleaner that way.

Or did you mean to buy an entire roll, yourself?

I love it!! I always buy the queen size. I do a lot of hand embroidery and I use it behind my work instead of an inter-facing. Also great for quilts, needles beautifully!

Jackie, which do you use for embroidery projects? I assume you have a back fabric behind the QD or do you just put it in a frame?

I love QD - I used the select extra light cotton on one project and it felt like it was floating off the table! I have also used the heavier select and tried the poly once. All lovely to work with - I machine quilt (not so well) and it quilts up nicely not showing mistakes!

I love the batting too. Soft as butter. You can always give them a call and ask whether or not they even produce a roll of batting. Back when I bought from them, they only had the packaged batting. Really nice company.

Thanks for the info. I've only been doing rag quilts but was thinking of trying a tied quilt and wasn't sure what batting to get. I will look at the quilter's dream the next time I am at Hancock's. My Hancock's takes Hobby Lobby coupons and is a little closer to home.

This link was just posted on another thread asking about batting. I don't know how their prices compare ...

    Hi, Ragquilter-

I realize that I should have said "Hancock's of Paducah." I didn't know there were any Hancock's Fabrics left. But glad to know there are! Sorry to have been unclear.

They definitely make/sell by the roll. Can't buy it direct however - you have to find a retailer who sells it. My LQS ordered a roll for me a couple of months ago. I love it! I would just ask, wherever you buy your packaged batting.
