I heard a rumor a few weeks ago that Quilters Home was closing. Well, I finally got around to the Aug/Sep issue that arrived last week, and it is true. That was the last issue. I am sorry to see it go; they had some really interesting articles and features that you didn't find in other magazines. For subscribers, they said they would run out the balance of the subscription w/ Quilters Newsletter. I've never read one of those, so this will be a new experience for me.

I'm going to miss the magazine, also. I really liked the comparison of products, rotary cutters, thimbles, etc. I used to subscribe to Quilters Newsletter, but haven't in several years.

Wow, that's too bad. QH is one of the magazines I really enjoy.

Some of the people who are part of Quilters Home are starting a new magazine called Generation Q. You can read more about it here:

Thanks for the link. A little confused by what they're trying to do -- I recognize a couple of the names, so I will keep an eye on this one. Thanks for the link.

Video stores are going the way of vinyl records, 8-tracks, and cassette tapes. The wave of the future is streaming video (which I personally prefer because it doesn't take up shelf space in my house!)

I am with you on that one. But, one modern invention I don't think I will ever get used to are e-books. I love the feel of books, paging through them, being surrounded by them. Some, like my favorite book, To Kill A Mockingbird, are well-worn friends that I turn to time and again.

The magazine was never the same without Mark Lipinsky.

I canceled my subscription when Mark Lapinski sold it. It wasn't as good after that
