I know next to nothing about quilting frames and found this one for sale close to me. Can a Bernina frame be used with other machines? I have a Janome 6600 and will be the only machine I can use on it. I realize it wouldn't be ideal, but if I can use it for now....until I can save enough for a better machine.

So sorry....it is a Bernina frame, the label says it will do a quilt up to 120".....price is $600, practically a new item.

Link wouldn't work for me but the last tine I looked at the Bernina frame it was about $3000? It had a Bernina machine on the trolley that was fastened in. As long as the machine could be fastened and had a fairly large throat I would think it would work. Nice sturdy frame in my opinion.

By purchasing a frame first instead of a midarm;longarm/frame combo, you may be limiting your choice of machines later. I have a Voyager 17/Hinterberg frame setup purchased for about $3,000 total. The Voyager is a vintage stretched Singer industrial machine so is quite heavy, and the Hinty frame is one of the few strong enough to handle the weight. The Bernina frame can probably handle some of the midarm/longarm machines out there, but many of the higher-end machines really require the frame that goes with them. For example, I cannot imagine using an Innova on other than an Innova frame. This would be to ensure that all of the fancy features, including stitch regulation, work correctly. Just something to be aware of.
