Ok I'm going to have to buy me a quilting machine.
I've been useing my regular sewing machine but its so hard useing it.
    What do you all use?
    I really can't afford a longarm, I'm looking in the 1,800.to 2,000.dollar range.
Please let me know what to start looking for.

P.S what kind of quilting frame do you use?

You could look at a Baileys 13inch machine. It's a little over $2000 and comes with a frame. I have a Juki (9 inch throat) on a Grace frame and right now it works fine for me. Much easier than pushing those big quilts through my regular machine. And mine didn't cost any where near $2000

I just got a Bailey's 17" Pro, have my own Grace frame. I was able to get a classroom model @ $2289. She's a beauty!

I was told there is a vendor show in Las Vegas in February and new things will be coming out from that. Discontinued machines may be on sale too.

The Bailey has a good, strong following. It is a very basic machine but it is a work horse.

Tamara - as far as the frame goes, there are different frames out there - and different Gracie frames too... they range in price/quality.

You can also check your local Craigslist and see if someone is selling a machine - and join the Home Quilting Systems yahoo group..... and if you are interested in a Bailey, there is a yahoogroup for that as well - most people only sell their Baileys to move up to larger sized Baileys... but you might be able to score one used. I did.

Oh - there is also a Wow quilter that falls in that price range - and the Homesteader is also in that range.

The frames are an added expense ;)
