    Default recognize this block?

I was told it was a block of the month in a shop series, I contacted the shop, never did hear anything.
Since there is nothing new under the sun, maybe someone can identify it or name the BOM?
    thanks, Sharyn

I’m sure there is a name somewhere in the quilting world. I checked a few of my favorite sites and didn’t see it. Do you need help re-creating the block? We just need to know what size you want to make.

It looks like a 12 inch finished would work well.

The outside triangles are similar to the Crown of Thorns quilt block. I wonder if it is a combination of blocks.

    thank you.
Rhonda, I 'think' I have it worked out, I like it because those center framing green narrow strips are unusual. I would like to know it's ancestry/dna though

I have copied your pattern as I needed it to do a search thru my quilt books and I have not found it in any of them. I have more books coming on the bookmobile and if I find it I will post it here and send you a speedy pm. I love this block. squares are my favorite thing to use most of the time.

The buffalo check adds another dimension to the block design.

I put the block in EQ8. It makes a nice secondary pattern in a quilt.

Oh, Dunster, why did you do that! I love (caps) that block and I promised, no new starts till a few finished are made!!!!! You make it so tempting.
    Thank you, I think.

    You guys...
We travel all fall, I have a nice little set up in the 5th wheel RV. I have begun kitting up a really simple project with my collected batik scraps, but needed something more complicated and thought this one looked like a good one. The buffalo checks are what caught my eye too although mine would have to be scrappy of some kind as I don't have any yardage.
This is the companion block the BOM was apparently using for their sampler.

I think if I had the green and the white as constants, and the check as scrappy it would be kind of cute. Maybe you EQ mavens could show us what that would look like?
