I love the idea of using the dollar placemats to make a sewing mat/tool storage area. Take 3 and make 2 of them as door prizes. I'm thinking, 1 whole one to go under machine, then cut the other in half, sew the cut part to the inside, turn it and then make pockets. Should be very quick.
Shipping was outrageous! Thought I had found a deal for my retreat!

I love these minature seam rippers: http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...eam+fix+set.do
I included them in Christmas gifts I gave out last year and they were a hit! I also included a cone of Superior So Fine #50 thread from the Try Me section of Superior's web site - only $6 for a 3,000 yd. cone, choice of 3 neutral colors, but they are on sale occasionally and I got mine for $4.19 a cone.
A small project bag is nice also. Quilt in a Day have them on sale often. And, of course candy and gum!
let us know what you come up with!

A little mint tin with a magnet in it for pins. You can use the magnets you get from companies and the tin left over from mints. (Price is 0) Easy to put together. You can also put a little wisdom note in each tin too.

lovelyl these look great too, wish I could buy them in bulk a little cheaper. One of the girls sells for Wonderfil
Threads and is always generous with it. Good ideas thanks.

quiltingshorttimer....These are all great suggestions. I am going to save some of them for next year, but will incorporate some of them now. Wallet card is one I might just have to do this year. Little surprises everyday is a good one too. might try that instead of everything in one bag. Votive pin cushions gives me some ideas too. Going to be busy. Thanks.

onebyone...yes, I agree, but coming from a small place....it goes deeper than that. Wish sometimes I could pick and choose.

No it is $60.00 for 5 days, but you must also supply food & cook lunch and supper with another person for 1 day. That is one of the reasons I try to have an even number. Also why I look for bargains and free. Not much left after rent. In fact I don't make any money...contrary to some. I enjoy doing this and that is why I do it. PM me if you want more info

Yes Nona, I too shop all year and look for bargain bins. I've always had the bags all the same because I just thought it was fair that way. Maybe I should stop trying to do that and come up with a better distribution system. Food for thought here....Thanks. Business cards sounds like a good inexpensive idea. Might give that one a try.
