    Default Rotary blade shapeners help

Hello All,, Im new to this board .. I'm very frustrated with Rotary Blade sharpeners..I have the hand held ones, an the track one from truecut but all it does is dull the blades an the time it takes to dull a blade *hehe* is crazy. I've looked at the reviews for the electric ones but they aren't very good either. I have RA an need a way to sharpen that's easier ..Anyone here used the electric ones an had luck.?? Or an I just stuck with purchasing them ?Thanks

First, welcome to the board! IMHO, blade sharpeners are a waste of time, and money. Purchasing new blades are your best bet. Do check Amazon for them, I have found great prices for them there and sometimes Joann’s can be worth the price with a coupon. I’m sure other will be along shortly to give you their feedback as well, it’s a little slower here as we get towards Christmas.

Yes, buy new ones. There are many really good blades you can get from the internet. Amazon and other sites have many at a very reasonable price - not all are brand names although those are available, too. Good luck!

I've had better "luck" buying new blades than trying to use a blade sharpener, too.

I have never used a sharpener, but someone on the QB stated once that Harbor Freight has a pack of 2 'Carpet Blades' for $2 or $3. I tried them, I like them so far.
    Welcome to the QB.

I tried several different packages from Harbor Freight and could not get any of them to work. I buy all my blades on Amazon for very reasonable prices and so far after 3 different shipments and 3 different distributors have not had an issue with any of them. In fact this last pack I got just don't seem to get dull. Wish I would have paid closer attention to where I ordered them from.
