Just got 20 pkgs from Harbor Freight in the mail. Pkg of 2 blades 1.49. I cannot really tell the different between HF's "carpet blade" and the expensive ones...last about the same amount of time. I have gotten a couple that had nicks but that has been some months ago.

I purchased a rotary blade sharpener at a AQS show---it was a horrible waste of money (I could have gotten quite a few FQ's instead). I now just purchase new blades. There may be one that works, but it sure hasn't been my experience (I have also purchased one that you can get at Joanne's---didn't work either).

I use my 'sharpener' to fix the unseen burr - similar to using the honing steel used before carving a roast. Using it regularly keeps the bevel on the edge straight.
