Has any one used the blade sharpeners for the rotory blades ?
I was woundering if they are really worth getting. The 45mm blades are a little pricey and I don't get out to shop much to get a new blade every few months.
    Thank you.

Yes they work but the blade is not really as sharp as when new. Also they will not remove nicks in blade.

I have 3; haven't yet tried the newest but the first 2 aren't worth the money
I bought 15 Harbor Freight blades @ $1.99/for 2. Waited a couple of months for delivery.

The cheap ones didn't work for me. I do have an Orbital Rotary Blade Sharpener and it works well.

New blades are the only solution, really. I NEVER had success with shapening a blade and eventually the sandpaper circle wasn't not sandpaper-y anymore.

I have the Orbitol Sharpener and it will sharpen a dull plate about 75% as good as a new one the first time if it has no large nicks out of it. The second sharpening is about 50% and the third about 25%. I don't bother sharpening a fourth time. Lens Mills in Canada sells a no name brand of blades (Clean Cut at $2.99). Occassionally these go on sale at half price and I'll buy 20 then. Sharp blades cut so much better and cut down the rist of the blade slipping and cutting you. To me, using a blade for months without sharpening or replacing is just not an option. Quilters need sharp tools.

I don't keep used blades or even try to sharpen them anymore. Just can't get the sharpness back like it was when new. I tried it and ended up having to go over spots that didn't cut.

I think the key is to sharpen them before they get dull
These are not made to put a new edge on the blades, so if you use them often they will work better for you :D:D:D
