On my list of "to do's" is to make a jeans quilt (the circles sewn w/squares inside if anyone remembers the pics posted here!) Anyway, I've gotten by so far with only having paper scissors at my disposal - but I'm thinking that to cut that much denim will require a decent pair made for fabric....
So, what I'd like to know is - what do I look for? Can I get them at JoAnn's? How inexpensive can I get them and still get a decent pair?

I really like my Gingers the best, but Fiskar (sp) is my second choice.

Is Gingers something I could get at JoAnn's? Expensive?

I never use my good ones for cutting jeans. Fiskars is as expensive as I go with Denim.

Ginghers are quite pricey.. I would go with the fiskars.. very good scissors and you can get them with a coupon at JoAnns or Hobby Lobby.

One of the best pairs of inexpensive scissors I've found so far are "Elan" I think they were about 15 to 20 bucks but they cut really nice. The pink handle Mundial set is really nice too.

Gingers are the best but you can wait until there' s a coupon. Most LQS have scissor sharpening days too.

What we need is a rotary sharpening day.

Fiskars has some quite nice ones that have gray handles and are in the $15-$20 range. They do a very nice cut on everything I've used them for. The newspaper/print shop associated with the office supply store I work for uses them for cutting slicks (and maybe negatives too) for print jobs. I cringe when I think about them cutting paper with "my" good scissors!
