I was donated some half square triangle to use to make a quilt for charity. It looks like the person trimmed off the seam allowance for some reason. I am not sure what to do with them now, there is a bag full of them. [ATTACH=CONFIG]473874[/ATTACH]

You could take a little deeper seam and make a smaller block

they may have been the leftovers from snowball blocks. i know that sometimes, when i sew the second seam on the snowball corner, i don't quite make the 1/2" from the first seam. so when i cut the snowball blocks to the correct 1/4" seam allowance, the leftovers have a narrower seam allowance. i tend to use those for wall hangings or mug rugs that don't get much wear and tear.

That's what I would do also. Don't try to remove the narrow seam just sew 1/4" seams and have them smaller blocks with "double" seams. If you decied to go ahead and use them I would just be sure to quilt heavy over those seams.

Thank you for the quick replies. I know it will be a lot of work but I think I will resew them using a larger seam allowance. I think you are right quiltnnan because they are in sets of four. Thanks again.

straighten them up by trimming. placing your 45 degree line on the seam, trim two sides, turn and place again and trim the other two sides. It will make them smaller but your seam line will then be where it belongs.
