    have a singer 221 featherweight machine. the machine sews 6 or 7 beautiful stitches then skips one or two. wondering if any featherweight user has had this problem. any help would be appreciated. thanks

    I used my featherweight for the first time today. I changed the needle, and started having this problem. Turns out I had the flat of the needle to the right, when it should be to the left. So, check your needle.

    quilt1950 is right. You thread the needle from right to left :)

    Your needle may be in correctly but have the tip blunted or dull. Change your needle, insert it correctly and see if this makes a difference. Featherweights don't usually skip stitches.

    Also, it is threaded from left to right.... Make sure your feed dog plate is on correct. There is a slot that part of the bobbin case sits in.
